Meet The Team - Sallie Bright
Q: What is your role at J Finance Ltd?
A: My job title is ‘Support Manager’ and I wear a number of hats within the company. I am responsible for marketing, HR and book-keeping amongst other areas!
Q: How long have you worked at J Finance?
A: I have worked for J Finance almost since it started in 2002 . initially, my children were still quite young but I did the book-keeping and processed all the transactions, since then my role has grown and the hours I work have increased.
Q: What do you like best about working with J Finance?
A: I generally work from home which was convenient when my children were growing up and we live some 60 miles away from the office. Now the children have grown up we have dogs, so I still work from home but with modern technology I am able to do most of my work online and on the phone. I’m not sure I could do the journey every day!
Q: Describe your typical day
A: I work part-time but every day is different for me – most days involve working on the computer, be it putting together articles for our monthly newsletter, processing payroll, working with the staff in the office to resolve issues or processing the accounts.
Q: What makes you happy?
A: My family makes me happy! I love it when we all get together, although these opportunities become less frequent but more special. Fortunately, they still enjoy coming away with us and we try to have a family holiday most years. I also love being in the countryside and walking my dogs in the beautiful Chiltern Hills where we live.
Q: What do you like to do at the weekend?
A: I love to garden, cook and spend time with my family and friends. I am a trained Nutritional Therapist but don’t have time to practice now. However, I love reading and talking about food, and its connection with good health. I also enjoy trying different foods and restaurants.
Q: Where are you planning to go on holiday this year and with who?
A: This summer I will be holidaying and working from the Scilly Isles off Cornwall. My husband and I have an opportunity to live there for the summer and as I normally work remotely this was a hard offer to resist.
Q: What is the one thing in your life that you could not do without?
A: My family – cheesy but true. You never stop being a Mum, even when they are grown up, but I do appreciate that we do get more time to ourselves now.
