Meet The Team - Scott Talbot

As part of our ‘Meet The Team’ series, here is Scott’s profile, so you can learn a little more about seemingly one of our most active advisers!

Q: What is your role at J Finance Ltd?

A: I’m a Mortgage and Protection Specialist and I joined the J Finance team in 2020.

Q: What qualities make you best suited for your role?

A: I think I’m a good listener and I never like to give up on people. I have amassed a wide range of experiences in my life which I believe makes me relatable to lots of people. Property has been my business since the age if 16 and there is not a lot I have not seen or experience in this time.

Q: Why should someone listen to your advice?

A: I have been involved in property since the age of 16. Some might say I’m seasoned! And of course, I am also a CeMAP qualified Mortgage Adviser which means that I have a full understanding of the property market. I come from a construction background and am also heavily involved in the buying and selling process of property in Newbury.

Q: Describe your typical day?

A: I wake up, shower, breakfast and take my son to school. After getting coffee I put in a fully solid day’s work in the office dealing with whatever comes over my desk. I try and catch up with friends or head to the gym of an evening.

Q: What makes you happy?

A: That’s easy, seeing someone’s reaction to my hard work and persistence makes me very happy.

Q: What do you like to do at the weekend?

A: I like sports, so at the weekend, I’ll play a round of golf or a game of rugby. I also like trying out new places to eat and drink of an evening. I also like to take the dog out to new places she can explore.

Q: Where was your last holiday?

A: My last holiday was camping in north Wales. Mighty cold but a hell of a lot of fun

Q: What is the one thing in your life that you could not do without?

A: My phone is the one thing I couldn’t do without! I feel I need to be contactable for someone if they need it.
